The MotivAct Group specializes in making dreams come true
By Paul Collins
Inside all of us, regardless of our age, sex or station in life, there are goals, as well as a host of hopes, wishes and dreams for the future. We all harbor a deep desire to impact the world in some way, shape or form and to stand out from the crowd.
The problem that many people encounter, particularly baby boomers, is that with the passing of the years, we find that we lose some of our dreams along the way. Some of them get crushed and left on the shoulder of life’s highway; others are left behind as we become increasingly caught up in life’s challenges and stresses.
Changing reality to fit your dreams is very often a daunting challenge. However, there is help available to you, and it’s a lot closer than you might realize. In fact, it is as close as Holden and the MotivAct Group.
Business partners Tom Ingrassia and Jared Chrudimski are the principals in a unique business that provides a holistic approach to personal and professional development through seminars, workshops and individual coaching. Clients clarify and set their goals and then, develop the roadmap to take them from where they are now to where they want to be in life.
Ingrassia, MotivAct’s president said, “Our signature program is Mental Massage, an innovative fusion of guided visualization and re-energizing massage in a transformational workshop that helps people get that clarity of purpose, reduce stress and enhance their mind/body balance.”
Both of these men are interesting people in their own unique ways. Chrudimski is also the owner of Revitalize Massage Therapy. Speaking with Ingrassia about how he made his own dream come true takes one back to the glory days of Motown records and the Supremes.
“In 2001, I had the opportunity to live my dreams when I was offered a job by Mary Wilson, of the Supremes, to be the creative director of her merchandising business,” Ingrassia said, “It was a dream that I had cherished since I was 11 years old , in 1964, when I saw the Supremes on television for the first time. It was the Ed Sullivan Show, and I turned to my mother and said ‘I’m going to meet them someday.’”
He resigned his position as the assistant dean of the Graduate School of Management at Clark University when Wilson approached him with a job offer. After four years of working with Wilson, Ingrassia was urged by a host of his former colleagues in the academic community to get out there and tell people how he achieved his own lofty goals.
He said that one friend had approached him saying, “We all have dreams, but we don’t have the courage to do what you did.”
Realizing that what he had achieved in his own life was a major milestone, and wanting to help others realize their own dreams, he put together the motivational Making a Difference Begins With YOU…So Live into your Dreams. This fledgling lecture was to sow the seeds of what would eventually become The MotivAct Group. Today, he and Chrudimski are immersed in helping others find the way to making their own dreams come true.
Asked about the biggest roadblock facing MotivAct’s clients, Ingrassia said it’s fear. “Fear of the unknown, fear of failure, fear of people laughing at them if they want to move in an unorthodox direction.”
Ingrassia said the typical client has an idea of what he or she might like to do, but has no clarity whatsoever about how to get it. That’s where MotivAct can step in and help.
What comes through in all of Ingrassia’s thoughts on the programs that his company offers is that the effort is much more a labor of love than it is a job. There’s a passion to help others that is very present. “Jared and I share the same passion for helping our clients achieve a more healthy, happy and harmonious life. It gives us tremendous satisfaction knowing that we can help people achieve their dreams just as we have achieved ours,” Ingrassia said
So if you’re one of the millions of people in this world who have a secret cache of what might often feel like little more than blue schemes and won’t-come-true dreams, take heart in the fact that there is help available to anyone who wants it. There is a place where you can go and a path that you can take to achieve your goals. And it is the brainchild of two men who have taken that journey and have seen their own dreams become a reality. Two guys who can definitely walk the walk and talk the talk.
Ingrassia and Chrudimski have now authored One Door Closes: Overcoming Adversity By Following Your Dreams, which presents the inspiring stories of sixteen people who have overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles in order to live into their dreams.
