Fitness Guru Wendy Ida’s New Book Take Back Your Life: My No Nonsense Approach to Health, Fitness and Looking Good Naked
By Hillary Stone
59-year-old exercise dynamo, five-time award winning fitness pro, top Los Angeles fitness trainer, and advice columnist Wendy Ida’s fitness career began after she gained 50 pounds with the birth of her second child. After a friend convinced her to try weight training, she became thrilled by the changes to her body, quit her 20-year corporate accounting job and pursued her own credentials as a personal trainer and nutrition specialist.
Now, Ms. Ida guides women to getting the body they want with a three-pronged approach in her 90-day Take Back Your Life Program and in her new book, Take Back Your Life: My No Nonsense Approach to Health, Fitness and Looking Good Naked. She speaks to the needs of women whose lives have spun out of control due to the physical changes that occur during midlife and the many major life transitions that hinder weight loss and leave women feeling unattractive and powerless. She not only approaches fitness from a workout perspective, but also shares her own life experiences, including stories, tips and tricks that enabled her to reinvent herself, drop four dress sizes and develop six-pack abs after age 40 ~ and hold onto them as a grandmother.
Wendy’s own personal journey from despair to reinventing herself as a premier personal trainer embodies her mantra that it is “…never too late to take charge of your life.” Known as the “Ab Queen,” Wendy has been a professional trainer since 1996. She holds two national certifications and has a special talent for inspiring and motivating people to surpass their potential and reach their unique greatness. Her clients love her and she is driven to help them ~ and now a new audience of readers ~ make healthy, happy and permanent life changes. She is a living example of how any woman over age 40 can become a fitness warrior if she understands her body. In Take Back Your Life…,Wendy shares her highly-successful approach to exercise, nutrition and motivation.
